Father Harold Dodge was a priest of the Diocese of Superior. His priestly service incorporated roles of both pastor (Mary, Queen of the Universe parish, Woodruff) and catechetical ministry.
As Director of Religious Education and administrator of the Christian Renewal Centers Father Dodge offered an example of personal faith, zeal in spreading the Gospel, and skill as a catechist. According to one of his colleagues in ministry, "Father Dodge loved nature and often shared his insights to make religious education come alive for adults and young people." He loved teaching and shared his vitality often in demonstrating "how to do it."
Father Dodge died very suddenly in 1977. The Father Harld Dodge Award was established to commemorate his commitment to the church through the ministry of catechetics, and to honor those who share his zeal, his skills as a Christian educator, and his commitment to the Mission of the Diocese of Superior.
