High school and junior high students from the Diocese of Superior rally around the sacraments every year during Youth Rally events:
Sadly we are not yet able to offer a diocesan youth rally so we’re going to be rescheduling our spring rallies for next school year.
Nevertheless, the need for dynamic evenings of encounter and evangelization is just as needed as ever. So, we have put together a detailed resource for how your parish can rally your own youth around the Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. We want to encourage you strongly to do your own parish night of adoration at some point this semester. We feel that socially distancing the teens to do this is safe at this time, using our guidelines for Mass (which have proven very successful) as guidelines for this. We feel that gathering youth together in a large space like your church is safe and, in fact, very necessary at this time. You will of course need to make that decision together with your pastor.
The document below is a more or less complete guide to the content you could use, but you are of course free to adapt or do something different all together.
Emmanuel - God With Us - Spring Youth Rallies 2021
Please let us know if you have any questions at all. Thank you and God bless you all!
We are so happy that you are preparing your youth to attend the annual diocesan youth rally. On this
page you will find:
As a parish contact, you need only send in a comprehensive list of names of your attending youth and
chaperones with one full payment for your group to the Bishop Hammes Center. All safe environment
regulations apply. This means all liability forms, medical forms and youth/image likeness release forms
should be maintained at the parish. A copy of these forms should accompany you and your group to ny youth sponsored event. Because of the parish responsibility of attaining these records we would like to note:
IMAGE/LIKENESS CLAUSE: There are occasions when representatives of the Diocese of Superior
and/or the media photograph, record youth while in school or attending/participating in diocesan
sponsored functions. Parish contacts should notify the Office of Associate Director of Catholic Formation in writing prior to a diocesan sponsored function if a parent/guardian does not consent to the use of their child's image and likeness. These records should be maintained at the parish. It will be up to the parish representative(s) to avoid potential recording or photographing of restricted persons. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
A final note, each year we have a new service project. This is an opportunity to assist our local host community with any special needs they may have at the time. This year we are collecting canned or dry food items for the local food pantries.
