Excerpt from parish bulletin - January 14/15, 2017:
Father Jojappa Madanu (Father Joseph) grew up in the village of Phirangipuram in the southern part of India.
His parents are weavers in a local factory. Both his older sister and younger brother are married and have children.
At sixteen Father Joseph joined the seminary motivated by his mother’s prayers and by a miracle in his family. He was ordained on April 11, 2011 and was assigned to several different parishes in India for the past five years as an assistant parish priest, hospital chaplain and youth leader.
An avid learner, he earned his Master’s Degree in Biblical Studies with an emphasis on the Gospel of Ma!hew. His desire to learn about different cultures and to meet new people inspired Father Joseph to discuss with his Bishop the possibility of working outside of India.
He arrived in Wisconsin last month and began his work as our sacramental minister. He expects to be assigned to the Diocese of Superior for five years. Father Joseph is eager to meet all of our parishioners and to be of service to the people.
