The Director of Ecclesial Ministries and Diocesan Consultation, Chris Newkirk, is pleased to
provide new opportunities in 2024-2025 for Pastors, Parish Life Coordinators/Parish Directors, Deacons, Religious Sisters, Parish Catechetical Leader (Principals, Teachers, DREs, CREs, Youth Ministers) and Parish Leadership Teams (to include all parish leaders) to learn and grow together. These offerings are in response to numerous requests for opportunities for more extensive training and leadership development. All individual leaders are welcome to attend, however it is hoped that you will take advantage of these opportunities by attending as an entire parish leadership team.
Christine Newkirk will present all topics in this series of Professional Development Days in 2024-2025.

2025: Celebrating A Year of Jubilee/Pilgrims of Hope
During the 2025 Jubilee, Pope Francis invites all of us to be "Pilgrims of Hope" -- witnesses who share signs of loving hope with prisoners, the sick, our youth, migrants, the elderly, and the poor. At our session, we will explore that invitation by considering the major themes of Catholic social teaching which apply to the marginalized, the isolated, and the needy. Our session will also help parishes discern how to better serve those in need as we "Recalibrate Maintenance for Mission."

Encountering Jesus in the Eucharist - Based on the Book, ‘Beautiful Eucharist’, Matthew Kelly and Others
Participants will have the opportunity to continue to deepen their understanding and appreciation of the Eucharist as “source and summit,” and as nourishment to feed our deepest hungers; to know, love and serve the Lord.
All sessions will be held at St. Joseph Parish Center, Hayward. Lunch will be provided on site.
