Parish sacramental registers are a valuable asset to the individual, the parish and the Church. They are attended to carefully and preserved diligently. In 2007, the Diocese of Superior microfilmed all of the sacramental records from every parish. Master and duplicate copies are housed in the Chancery. However, each parish possesses books to record the following information:
The pastor is to see to it that these registers are accurately inscribed and carefully preserved." (c. 535, §1)
Parish Sacramental records for parishes that have closed or merged can be found here.
As the location of sacramental records can change periodically, inquiries for records of parishes on this should be directed to:

Each year at the Easter Vigil candidates (baptized Christians who make a Profession of Faith and receive Eucharist and Confirmation) join in full-communion with the Roman Catholic Church. The sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist should be noted in the parish Confirmation and Communion books. The Profession of Faith and date should also be noted in the Parish Baptismal Register under the “Date of Baptism” column. Any subsequent marriage for the candidate can also then be noted in the “Remarks” column of the Baptismal Register.
The sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation should also be properly entered in the appropriate sacramental registers for catechumens (the non-baptized) who join the Church at Easter. Contact Peggy Schoenfuss: peggyschoenfuss@catholicdos.org, (715) 394-2240.
